Our Thursday (June 20) webinar will feature Fr. Brian Oldfield, rector of Saint Paul’s Anglican School and headmaster of Saint Paul’s Classical School in Melbourne, Florida.
As with every Continuing Forward webinar, it begins at noon Eastern Time and will be on Zoom (the link is here). Update: the video from the webinar is here.
Fr. Brian will talk about why Anglican churches should be more actively involved in childhood education and formation, as part of its call to catechize its members. This can include a homeschool coop, partnering with existing Christian schools or sponsoring its own school.
In particular, when hired at St. Paul’s, he felt called to form a school. He will discuss how launching the school has benefitted the parish, and the families in the parish. Overall, he will emphasize the value that parochial (parish-controlled) school can bring to the parents and the community.
The interview will be conducted by Fr. Mark Perkins, a member of the Continuing Forward executive committee who is the chaplain of St. Dunstan’s Academy, a residential boys’ high school in Nelson County, Virginia.
